I tried running SPT on a single cpu droplet hired from The Science Cloud but it refused to get any tasks. Next I used a 12 core with AVX-512 and it downloaded 12 tasks and started crunching successfully.

Why doesn't the single core instance get work?

The reasons may be different and there are many of them.
For example, let's start with the simplest question:

When you launched the boinc-client, how many tasks were installed in the boinc-client for simultaneous calculation?

This recommendation may help for a single core computer:

Memory requirements. See the client log.

If I understand correctly, it has 32GB of memory and one core.
Then he needs to limit it to 24-26 tasks at a time.
However, if there are other projects on that computer, then even less.

And of course, study the FAQ page very carefully.

The single core client attached
https://boinc.termit.me/adsl/show_host_detail.php?hostid=859
0.96GB

ATM the client is showing 1.198 GB used per task so not enough to run a single task if BOINC project exe used all 100%.

Oh yeah!
You are absolutely right.

In this case, he simply does not have enough memory on the local computer.
But the cruncher disappeared somewhere...

A small announcement:
I am currently working on resuscitation of the problematic batch 87.
In mid-May I gave out 10 tests and the answers have already been received.

Batch 87 requires less memory.
Approximately in the range of 600-800MB.
On such tasks this cruncher will be able to calculate normally, without errors.

Starting from May 27, 2024, first stage tasks for the 87th batch will be issued.
Crunchers return counted tasks.
So far so good.

However, all single-core computers of the topic starter have the last date of access to our server - 05/2024/20
It looks like he simply forgot about the question asked here.

No I didn't forget, I just didn't want to waste my hard earned $$S on a project that you stated needs more memory than is available on the single core The Science Cloud instances.

It's clear.
